Haarlem
Haarlem has traditionally been a centre of the graphic industry producing high-tech products. In recent decades this has attracted other high-tech businesses: producers of highly qualified services and products in security, identification and communication. This cluster offers the opportunity to develop new solutions for security and verification.
After trends such as secularisation, individualisation, information supply, etc., the focus is now on security. Security is hot and so presents a good opportunity for business, including international business. Personal and monetary security is well organised at this point, but the situation is very different for goods, services and data. For these international security supply chains to function, it appears that there is primarily a need for identification (is it what I think it is?) and detecting forgeries. Security, reliability and value retention determine identity.
